These specifications are intended to be used across the workflow from authoring to end-user presentation, and for both prepared and live applications. More detailed milestones and updated publication schedules are available on the group publication status page.
Draft state indicates the state of the deliverable at the time of the charter approval. Expected completion indicates when the deliverable is projected to become a Recommendation, or otherwise reach a stable state. This specification defines a content type that represents timed text media for the purpose of interchange among authoring, distribution and playback systems. Timed text is textual information that is intrinsically or extrinsically associated with timing information.
WebVTT files provide captions or subtitles for video content, and also text video descriptions [MAUR]chapters for content navigation, and more generally any form of metadata that is time-aligned with audio or video content. This specification defines a profile of [ TTML2 ] intended to support audio description script exchange throughout the workflow including production of the script, rendering as voice by recording or text to speech synthesis, and audio mixing.
For all specifications, this Working Group will seek horizontal review for accessibility, internationalization, performance, privacy, and security with the relevant Working and Interest Groups, and with the TAG. Invitation for review must be issued during each major standards-track document transition, including FPWD. The Working Group is encouraged to engage collaboratively with the horizontal review groups throughout development of each specification.
The Working Group is advised to seek a review at least 3 months before first entering CR and is encouraged to proactively notify the horizontal review groups when major changes occur in a specification following a review.
To be successful, the Working Group is expected to have 6 or more active participants for its duration, including representatives from the key implementors of this specification, and active Editors and Test Leads for each specification.
The Chairs and specification Editors are expected to contribute half of a working day per week towards the Working Group. There is no minimum requirement for other Participants. The Working Group encourages questions, comments and issues on its public mailing lists and document repositories, as described in Communication. The Working Group also welcomes non-Members to contribute technical submissions for consideration upon their agreement to the terms of the W3C Patent Policy.
Technical discussions for this Working Group are conducted in public : the meeting minutes from teleconference and face-to-face meetings will be archived for public review, and technical discussions and issue tracking will be conducted in a manner that can be both read and written to by the general public.
Working Drafts and Editor's Drafts of specifications will be developed on a public repository, and MAY permit direct public contribution requests. The meetings themselves are not open to public participation, however. Information about the Working Group including details about deliverables, issues, actions, status, participants, and meetings will be available from the Timed Text Working Group home page.
Most Timed Text Working Group teleconferences will focus on discussion of particular specifications, and will be conducted on an as-needed basis. This Working Group primarily conducts its technical work on the public mailing list public-tt w3. The public is invited to review, discuss and contribute to this work.
This Working Group will seek to make decisions through consensus and due process, per the W3C Process Document section 3. Typically, an editor or other participant makes an initial proposal, which is then refined in discussion with members of the Working Group and other reviewers, and consensus emerges with little formal voting being required.
However, if a decision is necessary for timely progress, but consensus is not achieved after careful consideration of the range of views presented, the Chairs MAY call for a Working Group vote, and record a decision along with any objections.
To afford asynchronous decisions and organizational deliberation, any resolution including publication decisions taken in a face-to-face meeting or teleconference will be considered provisional. If no objections are raised on the mailing list by the end of the response period, the resolution will be considered to have consensus as a resolution of the Working Group.
All decisions made by the Working Group SHOULD be considered resolved unless and until new information becomes available, or unless reopened at the discretion of the Chairs or the Director.Join the Timed Text Working Group. Many iPhone users complain that their iPhone is not receiving text messages or an iPhone is not receiving group texts.
In most cases, you need not enter recovery mode to start receiving messaging on your iPhone. Usually, a simple restart or minor adjustments to your messaging settings can resolve the issue. Also, you may experience situations when your iPhone has not access to cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. A mobile operator may not support certain message types, which prevents you from getting messages. Another possibility for an iPhone to not receive text messages is that a required service is not activated.
Just check the solutions for your iPhone not receiving texts problem below. If you find some of your important text messages lost from iPhone, follow the guide to know how to recover messages on iPhone.
PhoneRescue is widely accepted as the best recovery tool to do iOS data recovery, and it has helped over millions of iOS users recover deleted or lost messages. Your iPhone will not receive texts if you are not connected to a network. You can also send and receive messages through iMessage but you still need to check your Wi-Fi settings. Another option is to use cellular data to send a message or get one, so check if your device has access to cellular data service.
If your iPhone does not receive texts, you may need to turn on Wi-Fi Calling. You may not receive text messages through Wi-Fi Calling also because your current operator does not support the service.Arithmetic and geometric sequence worksheet
Check this with the operator. Wi-Fi Calling is available only on iPhone 5c or later models. Bear in mind that while Wi-Fi Calling is useful when using Wi-Fi connections in areas with little or no cellular coverage, you need your operator to support the service. Aside from Wi-Fi Calling availability issues, you may experience troubles with your iPhone not receiving text messages or MMS messages if your carrier offers no support for a specific message format.
If you are not getting MMS messages or your iPhone is not receiving group texts, you need to check the options for MMS and group messaging. In this case, you should check if your iMessage settings are set to receive and start messages from your Apple ID instead of your phone number. Do not worry if your iPhone is not receiving texts. Just follow the above steps to unlock or restore your messaging service. Modern iPhones have many functions to explore, so in specific cases, you may need to browse through all or most of them if your iPhone does not receive text messages.

The TTML specification allows users to define and use roles for elements, in order to manage this across disparate organisations without resorting to using complex namespaced prefixes a set of roles is recorded in the TTML role registry page. Work on WebVTT tends to happen in github and on the reflector. Those products that are managed with tracker are listed at products. Users of these products may identify issues within them, either before or after publication, and may wish to contribute developments, ideas or editorial changes to a product prior to publication.
All proposed changes must be recorded as issues which are managed on github following repos: imscimsc-testsPQ HDR in PNGttml1ttml2ttml-webvtt-mapping and webvtt.
Proposed W3C Charter: Timed Text Working Group (until 2019-09-10)
For bugs it is sufficient simply to raise an issue on github following repos: imscttml1ttml2ttml-webvtt-mapping and webvtt. For development of new TTML features it is preferred that the features are described within Change Proposals and discussed prior to approval either by teleconference meetings, usually held weekly, at face to face meetings, held on an occasional basis, or on the public email reflector which is archived here.
The Chair approves change proposals according to the W3C consensus policy. Where actions are assigned to members in order to progress an issue or a change proposal these are recorded in the tracker. Emails to the group's public email address can be viewed in the public archive. Members can view emails to the group's member-only address in the member archive. As we look to creating the next version of the specification to address open issues we will adopt a lightweight change proposal mechanism.
These change proposals are recorded in the Change Proposal Index. Action items are tracked. You can help by providing Timed Text Documentation. Jump to: navigationsearch. Minutes: day 1day 2.

Working Group members envision that the Timed Text specification will cover "all necessary aspects of timed text on the Web. Typical applications of timed text are the real time subtitling of foreign-language movies on the Web, captioning for people lacking audio devices or having hearing impairments, karaoke, scrolling news items, or teleprompter applications.
On the Web, there is no standard method for displaying text which is synchronized with other elements, such as video and audio. As a result, multimedia authors must write synchronized text files in multiple formats if they wish to support more than one player. A standardized timed-text format would eliminate this duplication of work. It would also simplify the creation and distribution of synchronized text for use with a multitude of devices, both software and hardware, such as multimedia players, caption encoders and decoders EIA, and TeleText, for examplecharacter generators, LED displays and other text-display devices.
Today, there are a number of incompatible formats for captioning, subtitling and other forms of timed text used on the Web. This means that when creating a SMIL presentation, the text portion often needs to be targetted to one particular playback environment. This poses an issue for creating interoperable SMIL presentations.
Moreover, the accessibility community relies heavily on captioning to make audiovisual content accessible to a hearing-impaired audience. The lack of an interoperable format adds a significant additional cost to the costs of captioning Web content, which are already high.
Timed Text will enrich the user experience for services involving timed text, and is seen as an important stimulus for instance in the usage of captioning and subtitling. The organizations willing to work on Timed Text include vendors of streaming multimedia technology, web browser companies and representatives of the accessibility community. Given the extensive existing body of work on Timed Text formats in other bodies, the WG should make an explicit effort to harmonize with one or more existing approaches.Case ready to be scheduled for an interview 2019
If possible, the WG should focus on the development of an XML-based representation that includes concepts of these approaches, since this is the "missing piece" in the standards that are available today.

Ground rules are amazing. I usually pick ground rules that I use every time the same group meets for the same purpose, customizing them to the needs of the meeting. Honestly, I recommend defining ground rules before you do anything else. Who participates in the working group is the other key part of a successful working group.
The outcome of a working group, how quickly you get to it, and how inclusive it is all depends on your ground rules and your attendees. So choose carefully! The most senior people in your organization may not have the top three characteristics in that list.
Would you be game for participating?
Your working group might meet forever and ever, but I recommend first developing a statement about the deliverable or goal of your working group, and use that as a soft dissolution point. In other words, how will you know when this working group should end? Once this 5-week working group has shipped the Architecture Principles, it will dissolve. Everyone in Engineering will need to own these Principles not just this crew! This goal is a challenge to ensure the Principles delivered will serve our entire organization.
What will you do during each meeting, and what will you need participants to do between each meeting? Define it early, write it down, and repeat it often to continue to reinforce your expectations. For example:. Homework should be done before the next meeting all one week apart. Once you have that template to repeat for each meeting, you can build out more specifics for each week it meets. And yes, we really did ship the list of architecture principles in just five weeks.
Stating and using ground rules, carefully choosing participants, and sketching out the process ahead of time all enabled us to hit our goal on time. Save yourself and your participants headaches and wasted time. Lastly, book an extra meeting day in case you need it. Get leadership buy-in, or at least give them a heads up. Introduce the working group concept in email or other medium to your broader organization with this info:. Each week you have the working group meeting, send another update on what happened, what the next steps are, and actionable things that are relevant to them.
